This site is about what interests me and the art I make. I guess it’s all about a sense of place – whether its the #treetwoproject  where I recorded the view from tree one for a year, or windows where I muse who stood in that exact same spot, or my artwork that captures the place in my head, or tries to take you to another place ;D

Seriously though – having spent my career with brand colours I know how colour has such HUGE power to change our mood, and as a painter, when colour is combined with movement it can convey a powerful visual feeling. When I paint, I come to the blank canvas with an idea of the colours I want to use and practise my strokes before diving in. I’ve been practising Tai Chi for a while and enjoy the concentration and stillness that I’m learning to bring into my work. My intent in my painting is that you join me and get lost in a feeling.

I’m a big fan of Craigie Aitchison, David Hockney, Donald Hamilton Fraser, Howard Hodgkin, Barbara Hepworth and Barbara Rae and hope I am channelling those artists, who for me, connect so well with us.
