Horizon 9

£375.00

Horizon 9 is a rich multi-colour ‘faux’ landscape influenced by the landscape where I live. Not quite Fen flat, but it has the big skies that I love.

Skies fascinate me. In a great sunrise or sunset every colour of the rainbow can show itself and they’re always different. In my painting I’m trying to get across the feel of it in the colours. I like to work in acrylic because I like to paint ‘in the moment’. Sometimes I have an idea of what I want to paint, its been keeping me awake, sometimes I let the moment take me.

I mostly paint first thing in the morning after walking the dog, and paint until I have got the feeling down. Sometimes I’ll keep coming back during the day if something is bugging me, but rarely take them into the next day because I don’t want to lose the energy.

Description

Horizons are a recurring theme for me.

I really love a good sky, especially a great sunrise or sunset where every colour of the rainbow can show itself. I’m not trying to show an actual scene, more the feel of it. I like to work in acrylic because I like to paint ‘in the moment’.

Horizon 9 is an orange and green ‘faux’ landscape influenced by the landscape where I live. Not quite Fen flat, but has the big skies that I love.
