L.A. burning: smoke

‘L.A. burning’ is a series of paintings responding to the terrible fires in L.A. in January 2025.

‘L.A. burning: smoke’ is a painting reflecting on the beauty and devastation that is fire. I do totally love the colours in this and need to revisit this palette!

I mostly paint first thing in the morning after walking the dog, and paint until I have got the feeling down. I’ll keep coming back during the day, or days after to see what needs tweaking, taking care not to lose the energy.
