Description
‘Falling yellow’ is the sixth in a series of six paintings playing with the idea of falling. Yellow is always a happy colour and this feels like it has more of a ‘plunge’ than the other paintings.
Colour has such huge power to change our mood and combined with movement creates a powerful visual feeling. I come to the blank canvas with an idea of the colours I want to use and practise my strokes before diving in. I’ve been practising Tai Chi for a while and enjoy the concentration and stillness that I’m learning to bring into my work.
My intent is that these paintings help you to get lost in a feeling. Like falling.

Photographed in natural light. Colours may look a bit different in real life, but have done my best to visually colour match! This was also hard to photograph, but this is about right!
