Wintry

‘Wintry’ – a painting of winter grasses. I don’t usually paint ‘things’ – apart from the cat! But I do take photographs of a lot of things and often of grasses against the sky because I love the structure and shapes. This was so beautiful though I had to ty an capture how it made me feel – the green grass had turned to blue with its frosty layer and everything was so very still.

I mostly paint first thing in the morning after walking the dog, and paint until I have got the feeling down. I’ll keep coming back during the day, or days after to see what needs tweaking, taking care not to lose the energy.
